Good Morning:
As I look at your schedule of activities to celebrate the 100th year of the Northern Navajo Fair, I wonder if the committee had consider the economic state the nation is in. Everyone is struggling to make ends meet and to have a fair for over a week, will surely deplete whatever funds you may currently have. I find it hard for the organization to bring in funds. If the committee was hard press on extending the activities than maybe a Monday through Sunday would of been enough. These are just my thoughts and thank you for allowing me to comment.

About the “Race to the Rock” what is the distance and which way is the run, is it along the Red Valley Road or is this a trail run. It would be good if it were run on trail. Just wondering
Info on Junior Rodeo. Is it an open Junior Rodeo? Who is the contact person? And, the SR Fair Office phone # is NOT a working #.
You need to change the date of October 28, 2011 to September 28, 2011 on your events calendar.
Where is the Pageant taking place at?( Miss NN Fair Queen and Miss NNN Teen). Where is the Baby Pageant Registration at? Is there a fee? This is not the Dine College Fair so Post a Beautiful pix of the Oldest and Most traditional fair Queen. What bands are playing? Where do we pick up entry forms for Horticulture? (After hours because we work.) Putting entry forms on-line would be helpful. Tuesday, 1:00pm is at the arena not area-need to do auto correct before posting. Make your schedule look nice and not just thrown together.
Are you selling posters for the 2011 fair and where could i get one? And also what bands are gonna be playin there?

It just means more drunks and more work for the Navajo Police..lol..And not to mention that the elderly will probably be short on funds by the time the parade comes around, or whoever gets paid on the 1st…

Why is the parade schedule so early in the morning? The schedule looks more complicated.

The schedule has the fair bbq on Thursday 9/29/2011 @ 11am…….When is the real time and date for the bbq. because im still waiting.

Need to update your schedule. One on the web is different from what is given out at the fairgrounds office.
Ugh!! Your parade entry for Royalty is $250!!! Are you kidding?!! That’s outrageous! My little girl is only 3 & would just love to be in the parade to wave to spectators. Its not like ur giving out gold and diamond trophies! Its supposed to be a celebration of 100 years n looks to me that the main focus is cleaning everyones pockets. And never fails that after the fair there is blaming of who took so much money while the events hardly get anything to give to their participants! Crazy!
WHAT IN THE WORLD? >>>YOUR SCHEDULE IS ALL MISSpeLLed and unorganized. The coordinators are giving out different info to. COME ON!! THIS IS GOING OUT TO THE WORLD!! H*E*L*L*O?? People all over the world are coming out to check out the 100th Annual Oldest and Most Traditional Fair and you all are still running around… get the scheduled events going>sorry to hear no rez dogs made it to the event. The electric for vendors are not even on! And you are charging an arm and a leg for these concessions. Even the dates are wrong on the events that are coming up. I don’t want to drive for 2 hours and find that your committee or whoever has changed it to another date. Keep updating the event schedule of the changes etc. etc!!
Hope next year, the fair will not be 2 weeks…that is too long to have an event that will affect people who still have to work and who travel through and around Shiprock. What a mess! I am definately not looking forward to the traffic and crowds of people, as I continue my daily routine of living and supporting my family.

I have been calling the number 505.368.5789 for the past couple of days and it is busy…are you for real? I tried at 6am in the morning and it was still busy? What gives? I’m sure it is not that busy if they don’t want to answer their phone calls from people wanting info at least have the courtesy to let the callers know. Sure would like a few questions answered.

as i read all the comments i can’t help but to think INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING, WHY DON’T ASK HOW CAN YOU HELP? and AS ADULTS IF MONEY IS AN ISSUE THAN BUDGET WISELY…. also LACK OF PLANNING ON YOUR PART, DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN EMERGENCY ON THE FAIR COMMITTEE’S PART… i am not navajo but i am looking forward to the festivites. I hope you can all be one and help another out instead of pointing fingers…
